ITS ALL IN THE LITTLE THINGS

I've wanted to write about this for some time because even though I don't struggle with extreme weight gain, I do have extreme bloating, lack of energy, and suffer from a small amount of depression. I know there are others out there who have to feel the same way I do and who CAN NOT or (like me) WILL NOT do extreme dieting. This is what I've found helpful.

First things first, if you are a size 6 shoe believe me, sister, chances are you will never be a size 9 shoe. Body types are like shoe sizes, once you accept your healthy weight it's only a matter of "shopping for the right size of shoe."

Taking the time to be healthy has never been my strong suit. I feel like my relationship with exercise is about the same as the number of times I gas up my Prius each month: hardly ever (ashamed emoji insert here). However I do it when I can and when I find the motivation to. Sure I'm sore every time I go to the gym but at least I'm going. I know I'm not going to be that person hitting the gym and loving it every single day so I set my goals in realistic way.

The one thing that has been a tremendous help for me has been Shakeology. Ummm, do I look like a beachbody coach? No I am not a beachbody coach nor do I have any affiliation what-so-ever to their brand. I'm just a regular girl, with a regular body, who has found a way to feel better. My sister, who is a coach, literally for the sole reason to get shakeology for herself has a passion for health. She knows I'm not going to eat chicken and tilapia for every meal (I would literally rather die) and thought this might be a good way to get my veggies and nutrients in once a day.

You guys this has changed my entire system!!!! I didn't lose any weight but I don't care because the amount of bloating that has gone down because of drinking it once a day has been so dang amazing. I feel so much better in general.

I do not have shakeology only for my meal because I listen to my tastebuds and I prefer to eat somthing salty with the sweet things I eat. So when I drink my shake around lunch time I usually have something like, air popped popcorn with coconut oil and garlic salt. I know you're thinking, ha ha, that sounds really healthy. Trust me when I say I do have butter every single day for breakfast-- and quite a bit of it-- but honestly I really like to coconut oil better if not more on my popcorn! It's just one way for me to switch my diet out with something healthy. I don't go without because of the fact that I have butter in the morning when I have the most time to work it off but I do make healthier choices in middle and later parts of day.

Popcorn not your thing? If that doesn't sounds good then sometimes I have a bag of chips. I try and choose a baked chip but if not-- because I made a healthy choice with my shakeology-- I satisfy my indulgent side with a more guilty choice like doritos. Just don't eat the whole bag; buy a snack size bag and eat that.

I don't have all the answers with being healthy I just know what has worked for me. I want to live healthy but I also don't want to give up on food. Food makes life so much better. It's about enjoying what you're eating and stopping when you're full. Your body is an amazing machine-- just take a moment to listen to it.

THIS MONTH'S GOALS:

  • Personal goal one: Regular gym time. 2-3 times per week. If one is your number, get it gurl!
  • Personal goal two: Shakeology for lunch. *above are the ingredients I usually add to my shake. Flax seed of course because of the texture and fiber and peanut butter to change it up. I always add it to 2% milk but you can mix it with almond milk, coconut milk, or even water.
  • Personal goal three: Drink more water. Umm if you read my blog post earlier you know that I am part camel.
