Personal Vacation to San Diego // Carlsbad, CA

We truly had the best time finding a new beach to visit each day, visiting the local Carlsbad farmers market, and stopping by the park for a swing here and there. It’s was the most laid back trip we’ve ever taken. I used to think it was necessary to bring her to all the big parks and attractions but I’ve come to realize she’s the happiest in the most simple settings. Just sticking our toes in the warm sand was enough to make us all content.

What I collect when we travel

Some people collect shot glasses, t-shirts, hats, pins, postcards, you name it! I've spent a lot of time traveling with the bug since she was tiny and I wanted to find something that we could collect that she would actually enjoy using while also learning about the places we've visited. Our home is super small so it definitely couldn't be something that took up a lot of space.

Hence the book idea.

Sometimes it's not the easiest task but we've always found something that has related to where we've gone! We usually have the best luck in quaint little gift shops that pop up along the way.

2016 RECAP

2016 was an amazing year for me both professional and personally. It was a year of so many firsts. First pregnancy, first weddings outside Idaho, and first time admitting I can't do it all resulting in the closure of the clothing boutique I started with my business partner, best friend and sister three years prior. I have a feeling 2017 will be even more amazing with the arrival of our new babe. 2017 BRING IT ON!

NYC Diaries Part 1

To say we were exhausted yesterday was the biggest understatement of the year. I had completely hit a wall of total fatigue after our wedding in Syracuse, NY. Of course we arrived on the most beautiful fall day and nothing on my body felt good. All my mind wanted to do was walk around and see the city until dark and all my body wanted to do was shower and sleep until next week. So I compromised. First we took a stroll down for coffee and a short walk in the park to scout out some places for our shoots today. Afterwards we got take out at this killer Thai restaurant a few blocks away from our apartment called Thai Up

If you travel to larger cities take advantage of yelp it's invaluable for finding good restaurants nearby by price, customer ratings, and type of food you are looking for. Great food coupled with european chocolate and can of ginger ale we picked up at a local market on the way home and you've got the perfect night in.
